About

A direct relationship with the person building your website.

Matthew BehrensDesigner and developer · Your point of contact

I’m Matthew Behrens, the developer behind BIT. I design websites and build practical web applications for small businesses.

My approach starts with understanding the business: what customers need to know, how the team works, and where a website or tool could help. From there, we can decide what to build first.

Start with something useful

A project doesn’t have to begin with every feature you might want someday. A focused website can meet a real need now, with room to consider additional capabilities later.

Keep the work connected to the business

The Behrens Landscape project began with a redesign and grew as the business asked for more. That experience reflects the way I like to work: listen to the people using the system and make improvements for a clear reason.

Work together throughout the project

You’ll work directly with me on planning, design, development, and review. We’ll agree on priorities and scope, look at the work as it takes shape, and discuss support after launch.

I work with businesses in Chicago’s northwest suburbs and welcome remote projects as well.
