Web Design & Development
A website should make it obvious what you do and easy to take the next step. BIT builds new sites and redesigns or looks after existing ones, so they load quickly, read well on a phone, and point customers toward a call, a quote, or an order.
How it works
Every project starts with what your customers need to find and do. For a new site, we plan the pages, design them for phones and desktops, and build them to be fast and accessible.
Already have a website? We start with what’s there: what’s working, what’s slowing customers down, and whether it needs a few fixes, a redesign, or a rebuild. After that, BIT can keep managing it, with updates, fixes, and new pages as your business changes.
Sites can be custom-built or on WordPress, depending on what they need to do and how you want to manage them.
What BIT can help with
Your project includes only the pieces you need.
New websites
Page planning, layouts, and designs built around the questions your customers ask, custom-built or on WordPress.
Redesigns and moves
A fresh design for an outdated site, or a move off Squarespace, Wix, or another platform, with redirects so existing links and search traffic aren’t lost.
Managing your existing site
Updates, fixes, new pages, and speed improvements for the site you already have, as one-off work or ongoing.
WordPress websites
New WordPress builds and redesigns, plus fixing or speeding up a WordPress site you already have.
Responsive and accessible
Layouts that work on every screen, with readable text, clear focus states, and images sized so pages don’t jump while loading.
Interactive tools
Calculators, quote forms, and lookups that answer a customer’s question on the spot.
- A full redesign of the public site, built to work as well on a phone as on a desktop.
- A coverage calculator that turns a bed’s measurements into cubic yards.
- A delivery-rate lookup that prices any address by driving distance.
- Every old Squarespace link redirected to its new page.
What you’re looking at 4 notes
- Shape of the area. Rectangle, circle, or polymeric sand for paver joints, so the math matches the job.
- Several beds at once. Customers add each area they’re working on, and the totals combine.
- An answer in yards. Rounded up to the nearest half-yard, the way bulk material is sold.
- Straight to ordering. The result links directly to online ordering and the delivery-rate lookup.
What you’re looking at 4 notes
- Answers up front. The starting rate, delivery radius, and “no account needed” are stated before anyone types.
- Just an address. Customers enter where they want the delivery; on the live site Google suggests matching addresses as they type.
- Driving miles, not a straight line. The quote uses driving distance from the yard and matches it to the yard’s rate tiers.
- Straight to ordering. From the quote, customers can order online or call to schedule.
Questions
About web design.
Should my site be custom or WordPress?
It depends on what the site needs to do and who will update it. WordPress suits content-focused sites you want to edit yourself. A custom build makes sense when you need tools a plugin can’t handle, or want fewer moving parts. We can decide together.
Can you redesign the site I already have?
Yes. We’ll look at what’s working, what needs to improve, and whether the existing setup can support your goals.
Can you take over managing my current website?
Yes. BIT can handle updates, fixes, and new pages for a site you already have, whether it’s WordPress or custom-built. Ongoing work can be set up as a care plan.
Will I be able to update the content myself?
On WordPress, yes, you can edit pages yourself. For a custom site, we’ll agree on what you want to change on your own and plan for it.
